Overview of the Graduate School

What is an MBA?

The letters “MBA” stand for Master of Business Administration. This is a degree acquired in postgraduate study after completion of four years of study in an undergraduate degree program. Graduate schools in Japan under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in particular are part of a system of specialist (vocational) graduate schools whose main objective is to provide education for practitioners rather than training for academics. With the introduction of the Graduate School of Management, Kagawa University became recognized as a university of specialist education which offers an MBA graduate program. In today’s unpredictable business environment, it can be said that there are increasing expectations and needs for MBA studies which provide people with general practical skills that have relevance beyond the framework of a particular firm and skills that enable them to cope with tumultuous changes in the market structure.
